The Loon Chair II

The Loon Chair II is an evolution of the original design; refined, intentional, and built to last. A single additional rear face was introduced to the form, deepening both the chair's structural stability and its visual cohesion.

Following the furniture design course that gave birth to the original Loon Chair, this piece marked a significant milestone: my first commissioned work. For this build, I transitioned from reclaimed wood in favor of African Mahogany plywood, a material that brought an entirely new richness to the design. Its deep, warm tone and striking grain pattern transformed the familiar silhouette into something altogether more refined.

The result spoke for itself. My client designated it his reading chair, a quiet endorsement that says everything about how a well-made piece of furniture can earn a permanent place in someone's life.
