I have a genuine curiosity about how spaces shape the way people feel and live. I believe design has the power to create moments of joy, clarity, and escape, and that belief drives everything I do.

Life Outside.

Growing up on the shores of Michigan's Great Lakes, I developed a reverence for the natural world that has only grown with time. That early sense of stewardship and the understanding that we are guests in these landscapes followed me to Colorado, where the mountains deepened my bond with the land even further. Being outdoors doesn't just restore me, but it informs how I think and create. The textures, light, and rhythms of the natural world shape how I approach materials and guide me toward the intersections where human experience and nature can genuinely meet in a design. These sensibilities draw me to architects like Carlo Scarpa, Peter Zumthor, and Tadao Ando, designers who understand that the most powerful spaces don't compete with nature, but listen to it.

Additionally, I enjoy drawing, traveling, and as of my last semester of graduate school, building chairs. Last but not least, spending time with my partner, dog, and family (usually outside) bring me a sense of fulfillment and purpose.
