The Loon Chair

For my EcoFab Furniture Design course we were tasked with using found or salvaged materials.

When approaching this project I wanted to use a minimal amount of materials, have thoughtful joinery, and ultimately have a chair that is able to be disassembled and moved.

The Loon chair is a flat pack, slotting system chair, that did not use any glue or metal connections. This chair is used entirely of free, scrap, plywood which Studio Mobler donated to me for this project.

The only cost stain used is water based which is more eco-friendly and has a lower environmental impact compared to oil based stains. They contain lower VOC levels, reducing harmful emissions and promote better air quality.
